Davenport Dental and Wellness is located in the Lakeview/Avondale area. Dr. Davenport lives in this area as well. We are excited with the recent growth and gentrification and honored to be a part of the community. We are proud to support local businesses. About Dr. Davenport
Dr. Davenport brings a unique passion for dentistry having come from a long line of dentists, with a dentist in her family since 1893. She grew up in a small town in South Georgia where her father is a dentist. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia in 2009 and then graduated from UAB School of Dentistry in 2013. She completed an Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry at the VA Hospital in 2014.
Dr. Davenport has made a home in Forest Park with her husband, Jeff, their son, Broughton, and dog, Buster. She loves the Birmingham community and is thrilled to have started here. She enjoys supporting local business and participating in the community.
About Dr. Petznick
Dr. George Petznick graduated with a B.S. from Auburn University in 1955. In 1957, he graduated from the Air Force Jet Fighter Pilot School. He graduated from the Alabama School of Dentistry in 1963 with his DMD degree. He is Retired Commander of the 160 Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron with Rank of Colonel Air National Guard in 1985 after being recalled to active duty three times.
He spent four years as Executive Council of the Birmingham District Dental Society, three years as a Delegate to House Delegates of ALDA, was President of Birmingham District Dental Society (1984-85). He served as President of University of Alabama Dental Alumni Association (1986-87), Chairman of the Alabama Section of American College of Dentists (1989), three years as Section Representative of the National Meeting American College of Dentists, four years as Membership Chairman of the Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics (1996-97).
He earned his Master Degree Academy of General Densistry, with over 800 hours of post-graduate work. He is a Fellow in the American College of Dentists and a member of Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics. He spent five years on the Admissions Committee for the University of Alabama School of Dentistry.
He is a member of the Birmingham Society for Advanced Dentistry Study Club and was named Birmingham Dentist of the Year (2003).
He serves on the board of the Southern Museum of Flight and was on the Original Board of Directors of the New Alabama Symphonic Association. He is a member of Cathedral Church of the Advent, Monday Morning Quarterback Club and Birmingham Rotary.
He is married to Kathleen Searcy Petznick and has three children: Dr. Paul Gaston Petznick (wife Eliza); Dr. Charlotte Petznick Maxwell (husband Larry); and James Lyle Petznick and four grandchildren: Gaston and Sarah Petznick and Hildy and Libby Maxwell.
